How to Purchase a Domain Name

STEP 1 – Shop Specialized Domain Names: Browse through the alphabetical list of available domain names listed for sale. All domain names in this portfolio are specific to the Houston, Texas area and related to foreclosures, short sales, and REO properties making them highly desirable for local real estate professionals specializing in bank-owned property listings.

STEP 2- Check Current Availability: Once you’ve found a domain name that you’re interested in, click on it. If the domain name is still available for purchase, you will be directed to NameCheap’s Market sales page for that specific domain name.

If a domain name displays errors or opens to any website other than the Namecheap Market sales page, that means that domain name has sold and is no longer available. Domain names that were recently purchased will temporarily display errors while being transferred to the buyer. After the transfer process is complete, the domain name can easily be forwarded to any existing website already owned by the new buyer or set up as an entirely new website. The marketing possibilities of keyword-specific domain names are endless.

STEP 3- Login to NameCheap: Before you can complete the purchase process, you will need to setup a Namecheap account login and password. Be sure to click on the verification link from Namecheap to confirm your email address. So will receive the confirmation email quickly, so check your junk mail folder if it seems to be taking a while. If you already use Namecheap to manage your web products, you may use your existing login information to add new domains to your account.

STEP 4 – Add Payment Details: NameCheap accepts PayPal as well as all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and others. NameCheap also accepts some types of cryptocurrency. NameCheap’s Payment Questions section provides more information about acceptable forms of payment for domain name purchases.

STEP 5 – Review Order and Pay: Confirm all registration and payment information is correct, then press the Pay Now button. Within a few minutes NameCheap will email the receipt to you and notify you that the domain name transfer process has started. STEP 6 – Domain Transfer Pending: During the domain name transfer process, newly purchased domain names will be listed in your NameCheap account. While logged into your NameCheap account, click on Dashboard and then Domain List to see your domains. The transfer process will take 24-72 hours to be completed.

During this time, your account will display an alert saying that the domain name has been suspended. Don’t worry, suspending the domain from the seller’s account is the first step ICANN takes toward transferring and verifying ownership of the buyer. The transfer process may take up to 3 days but is often completed within 24 hours after purchase.

STEP 7 – Domain Transfer Complete: Once the process of transferring domain names is finished, the domain suspension alert will disappear and the status of the newly purchased domain names in your account will change to active.
